Next Gen is an after school and summer time enrichment program for current and former Generation One Academy students three through elementary.
We love to have volunteers work with students on their homework and enrichment activities while building relationships. We also love for volunteers with special skills or passions to lead workshops or classes. Some examples of this have been dance classes, Girl Scouts, Bible Study, cooking classes and Capoeira.
Generation One Academy replaces the "traditional classroom" with a collaborative community. Classrooms are small with 10-15 students who are led by a teacher and teacher assistant. Our curriculum seamlessly integrates academic and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in order to develop strong character and positive decision making.
We love to have volunteers in the classrooms to assist the teachers, read to the students, help with projects and more. We can also use administrative help on campus with answering the phone, making copies, data entry, prep for the teachers, etc.
We host teams for selected projects to improve the campus. Depending on the need, projects may be planned around group size and skill level. Ministry, student groups, and corporate volunteer teams are encouraged to come and help out.
You have special skills, talents, and interests that can be matched with a variety of Generation One’s needs.
