Mercedes Moore is the Director of Family Relations at Generation One. She’s helping build the Empowered Families Program to provide families and youth with the tools needed for healthy communication, problem solving skills, and positive interactions. She has a B.S. in Psychology from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a M.S. in Family Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has been working as a qualified mental health professional in community mental health for 8 years. Mercedes is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist trained to provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Here at Generation One, she believes her role is to empower families by instilling hope and being their advocate. When parents thrive their children thrive so she loves being in a role where she gets to work directly with parents.
She takes pride in creating a safe space for families to identify challenges and problem solve ways to make life less challenging. She provides families with tools to learn how to identify and challenge unhealthy thoughts and behaviors and modify them into healthier thoughts and behaviors. She uses a mix of CBT and Brief Strategic Family Therapy as her therapy approach.
In her spare time she loves to podcast, work out, listen to music, and travel to beach destinations. She is also a history fanatic!
