They taught me how to respect and love myself for who I am. They encourage us to keep on pursuing our life goal and to never give up. I felt like giving up at times but Ms. Kenzie and Mrs. Jeri kept on motivating me to keep going. “Before I started MITI my life was so out of order. I didn’t have anyone to tell me to keep going, I can do anything I want to do if I put my mind to it. I was so stressed out in school and at home. In school my work was so hard some times I just wanted to give up, but Generation One helped me with my schoolwork during tutoring and made sure I understood. I also got help studying for my TAKS test that I had to pass to get into college. At home I wasn’t getting a lot of love and MITI gave me more love than anything. They showed me that they care and that they will always be there no matter what.

MITI helped me with college. I had to do a lot of things before I got into college. I had to do my FAFSA but I had trouble with it, so they had someone come out and help us. MITI took all the stress away. MITI inspired me to be the best I can be. Generation One helped find someone to give me a scholarship for college!”

“This MITI class is very helpful and inspiring by what we hear on the videos. The past few months we have learned about understanding self, purpose and direction, conflict resolution, fact vs. assumptions and lots of other things to help us be successful. My favorite lesson we learned was on personal presentation. That was my favorite because I learned that you have to make a good first impression whether it’s a job interview or when you meet someone new. This MITI class has helped me to become more successful by using what they have taught us.”
