Generation One, Inc. has created a rotating list of homes in need of repair. We will maintain a list of homes that require paint, roof work, ceiling fans, and other minor repairs. We will have a name, number, address, and job description for home repairs available to anyone who would like to volunteer their time in the Third Ward.  Please contact us if you would like information on a family or property in need of assistance.

 

Generation One, Inc. would like to thank T&T Construction, Republic Waste, and the City of Houston, notably the Solid Waste Department and Permitting, for their cooperative efforts in helping remove a condemned home on Live Oak and McGowen in the Third Ward. Thanks to the contributions by these parties and others, a hazardous property has been demolished and removed from the area.

While the list of condemned and irreversibly damaged properties in the Third Ward is extensive, we see the demolition of this first home as the beginning of a long process to improve the standard of living for many people in this area.    
 
Through the concerted efforts of the City, business partners, organizations, and committed volunteers, Generation One would like to continue in the revitalizing of the Third Ward. We invite businesses, groups, and individuals to partner with us in this landmark movement by taking pride in making our home a better place and by extending a right hand to our neighbors in need.
