Our goal is to provide an opportunity for every
child in the Third Ward to attend an annual summer camp and/or
Vacation Bible School (VBS). Generation
One is currently recruiting youth in the community who would
like to attend and benefit from a camp/VBS experience. We will register
and prepare the kids for camp/VBS, meanwhile partner with local churches
that will take on the responsibility of orchestrating the camp/VBS. Our
goal is to have several churches running several camps/VBS back to back
each summer. If your church cannot physically or logistically run a
camp, we invite you to financially support a summer camp/VBS.
Other exciting activities in the planning stages
include a golf outing, fishing outing, and sailing opportunities
with experienced athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. If you have
another passion or hobby that you would like to share with youth
during a single event or on an ongoing basis, please contact us with
your interests and plans.

We are actively recruiting applicants for Generation One’s
Mentoring Program. We desire to get every child that we work
with in a one on one mentoring relationship! Much research has
been done to show that these positive role models can and do
change the lives of the youth being mentored!
Mentors are asked to make a
year long commitment to spend a minimum of 4 hours a month with
their mentee and to check in with their mentee once a week by phone.
A few hours of time will go a long way with these youth who need the
consistent care and encouragement a mentor will offer! Training is
provided during a comprehensive application process.
Tutoring
We meet with the kids on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-6 to help
them with their homework and to strengthen their reading skills.
Please contact us if you’d like to join in the effort!
Bible Study
We meet with the kids on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 to help
them grow in their relationship with Christ through expanding their
Biblical knowledge and teaching them to turn to God in prayer!
Please contact us if you feel called to help teach!
